Fall is here! I love fall colors, the leaves, and hot chocolate. And while, Spring and Summer are by far my favorite seasons, I am letting summer go and embracing Autumn! If only it wasn’t marred by the dreadful holiday of Halloween. For all you mommas out there that still take your kids to halloween parties and dress them up in outfits from the dark side, AND without over spiritualizing things – let me suggest another route – CELEBRATE HARVEST! We have so much to be thankful for! Philippians 4:8 says – Whatsoever things are true, noble, praise worthy, of a good report – think on these things! YES! Most churches I know offer a great harvest celebration so your kiddos will not miss out on candy and fun! Take the time to research the origin of the holiday and what it has become. I have attached some information that will help you make informed decisions. We serve a good, good Father – and I find that, alone, is reason enough to celebrate His goodness and mercy. Pumpkin cookies, lattes, leaves, and even the dreaded candy corn! All good! No reason to give glory or attention to the dark side. :)

Halloween, is it Just Harmless fun?
